ABOUT US

Talia is a classically trained singer and musician who enjoys teaching singing, beginner piano and performing arts to all ages. Talia loves hosting workshops which are always great fun, combining elements of singing, dancing and acting into an intensive 2 hour group session.

Talia specialises in preparing children and young adults for auditions in productions or school opportunities.

 

Talia has a Licentiate degree of London College of Music in Music Theatre Performance.

 

She has performed on stage in many popular musicals and has toured the UK with Opera North. In 2019 Talia was Head of Music at a children’s summer camp in Pennsylvania, USA.

In August 2023, Talia took an original interactive children's musical 'The European Extravaganza' to The Edinburgh Fringe & performed the show to sold out audiences.

 

Talia works with SEND adults and children on a daily basis. Talia also works for the Leeds based charity 'Pyramid' where she leads group music sessions for adults with profound multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Talia is passionate about making music accessible, everyone is welcome at One Step Ahead.

 

Talia has an enhanced DBS check, a safeguarding certificate and undertakes regular first aid training.

Talia is the founder of One Step Ahead, which was founded in 2019 and she works behind the scenes to run the business alongside teaching.

 

Lessons can take place in person or, if that is not possible, can take place online via Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp or Facetime. The studio is just off Meanwood Road in Leeds (LS7), where in person 1-1 classes take place. There is free parking outside the studio.

For our choir & workshops we use a larger blank canvas space which is next door.
